I entered the world of hypnotherapy as a client desperate to overcome a persistent phobia involving intravenous needles. Nothing I ever did helped and as the years went on it got worse and worse. I started to avoid doctor’s appointments, skip annual check-ups and blood work and I had a difficult time getting through the standard medical aspects of my pregnancies and labors. Trying to “be tough” or intellectualize why I shouldn’t be afraid didn’t help. It was downright embarrassing when I would enter the fight/flight state and behave incongruently with what I knew was actually reasonable and safe. 

I had finally had enough and out of desperation made an appointment with a hypnotherapist. I barely knew anything about the field, but I did know I needed efficient, focused help and couldn’t do it alone. The relief that I felt was undeniable and I can wholeheartedly say “it worked!” The unexpected gift was then being called to train in the field and do this work today.
